Three Seasons In: How the CPB Changed Curaçao Baseball
February 5, 2026
The Curacao Professional Baseball — debuted in December 2023 as the highest level of professional baseball on the island, supplanting the summer amateur competition. The inaugural tournament ran from December 3 to 10, 2023, in Willemstad.
Three teams have contested every season: the Curaçao Suns, the Curacao Goats, and the Willemstad Cannons. The Suns won the first title under manager Ghionello Jansen and represented Curaçao at the 2024 Caribbean Series in Miami. The Goats took the 2025 crown under Soric Liberia and played at the 2025 Serie de las Américas in Nicaragua. In 2026, the Cannons finally broke through under Ricardo Vera.
Though not organized by the Curaçao Baseball Federation (FEBEKO), the CPB carries the federation's certification and approval.
